Suicide Machine

A company in Switzerland is about to introduce a 3-D-printed machine that will painlessly end a person's like in minutes. I wonder if they're having trouble finding people to test it. Human testing will begin early next year.

The device somewhat resembles a coffin, and it can be delivered to the person's house. At the push of a button, nitrogen fills the unit, and the person falls asleep. Without oxygen, he soon passes away. A device like this might be of interest to states that still have the death penalty.

Some people might test it on their not very beloved spouses. I am not at risk, I think :)

It would take a clever story to get them inside, maybe calling it an oxygen pod.

How about a stress relief pod? (Not saying who’s relief it’s for)😉

Whatever you call it, it's not the kind of thing I'd want in my house, especially with kids around.

I have a better idea , a mask , connected to one of your nitrogen filled tire , that should do it .

It's become fairly common in Europe.
There was an article just the other day how Germany is requiring all those who wish to end their life to be vaccinated first.
Sounds a bit pedantic at first...but it is because the state certified mobile termination teams feel at risk.
They won't show up in your driveway unless you can prove you have been vaccinated.

You won't buy this contraption...won't be lying around your house...lol.
A state sanctioned team would show up with the hardware...then take it all away again.

I can understand the vaccination. Dead or alive, the virus is in the body. I can't see suicide ever becoming legal in this country. Various groups would object too much.

Oregon has some law granting it.

I'm surprised. It sure beats suffering for months when there is no chance of recovery.

The following U.S. jurisdictions have death with dignity statutes:

California (End of Life Option Act; approved in 2015, in effect from 2016)
Colorado (End of Life Options Act; 2016)
District of Columbia (D.C. Death with Dignity Act; 2016/2017)
Hawaii (Our Care, Our Choice Act; 2018/2019)
Maine (Death with Dignity Act; 2019)
New Jersey (Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act; 2019)
New Mexico (Elizabeth Whitefield End of Life Options Act; 2021)
Oregon (Death with Dignity Act; 1994/1997)
Vermont (Patient Choice and Control at the End of Life Act; 2013)
Washington (Death with Dignity Act; 2008)
