Nice shots, especially the Capitol and Library of Congress.
In pic 6, any idea of what they're planning for that large vacant lot to the left (south) of the Reflecting Pool?

When I lived in DC, I lived nearly 10 years in a building barely seen on the right edge of the image just below your question. The area you ask about was used for sports leagues (flag football, etc). It looks like maybe they're resodding / growing the area again rather than replacing. But, I don't know for sure.

I think you're right, Paul. We used to play softball somewhere on the Mall and that must have been the place. (I worked at the State Dept. - not pictured - for 25 years.)
