No, Naked Wines is not some kinking wine tasting club. It's a company in CA that sends you an introductory case of fifteen bottles of assorted wine for $79.99. I got wine from them a few years ago, and I just received another offer in the mail, so I went for it.
So, what's the catch? There doesn't seem to be one. Supposedly, when you buy the case of wine, you agree to become a Naked Wine Angle (Is that a weird title, or what?). You would pay them $40 a month, and you could use that money to buy wine whenever you want. Or, as I do, you tell them you do not want to be an Angel. You get the fifteen bottles of wine for $86.30 (with tax), and that's the end of it.

So, I am going to make the assumption that this case is good tasting wine, and that you feel this is a good deal?

I am not a wine expert. If it's colored and alcoholic, it's okay with me. You'll have to read through the website, call them, or do a chat. That works out to about $5.76 per bottle.
Thank you, I am no wine expert either. If it tastes better than “Night Train” or “MD 20/20”, then it’s a great deal at that price point.

Jerry, how are you making out with your gas cap calamity?
I've been buying from them and have enjoyed most of what I get. Millier vineyard is my favorite so far.
I've been buying from Naked for almost a decade, dozens of cases. There are no catches. None.
The wine is a great value, wines that are not available anywhere else. If you get a bottle you don't like, they'll credit you for the asking without challenge. I can, and do, communicate directly with some of the makers. I'm a bit of a connoisseur and have access to fine local stores as well. Naked tops them all for value.
And yes, Millier's wines are a particularly good value and very consistent.
I used to belong to the Wall Street Journal Wine Club.
It has a two tier pricing system...started out with the lower, and it was pretty good.
Jumped up a tier and the extra money was well worth it.
WSJ trick was to purchase great wine from small wineries who don't have market punch.
WSJ would buy their entire harvest...and pass the savings onto (some of the savings...wink) the customer.
Good variety...great variety actually.
I dropped out finally only because my wife and I simply could not keep up with the wine...lol
At one point, you could not visit me without leaving with a case of wine...I had stacks of cases stored in a cool room...and 120 wine slots filled in the kitchen already.
Enjoy!!

I've done this before, and a phone call got me unsubscribed immediately - and a refund of the $40. As soon as the wine arrives, I'll cancel. Of course, this $40 isn't a donation. It goes into your account to use for wine purchases.
I got an invitation from my college to participate in an online wine tasting. For $75, I would get half a dozen taste-size bottles of wine. Not my idea of a fun evening.

Yeah, pass on that.
Look for a cigar dinner...WAY better...and wine is always served with a good meal.

Isn't there a saying about cigarettes and cigars? Something like "A cigarette is a smoke, but a cigar..." Google didn't help.

Do you become an "Angle" or an "Angel"? I'm so confused.
