I was taking a short cut over the Wet mountains in southern Colorado and just happened to glance to my left. I took a couple of quick shots. When I got home I measured the distance to the edge of the mountain range in the background of this photo; 54 miles. It never ceases to amaze me how clear it can be at altitude here. For my fellow Colorado folks the shortcut is between Bishops Castle and Beulah.

I grew up in Colorado. Images like these make me reminiscent.

Very nice capture Mac. This is one of my wildlife drives, locals call it '14MILE',
14miles from Beulah to CO-69. It is a very good gravel road and reaches a
elevation of 9,600 feet. For a shorter drive I like to go north out of Beulah
on PC-387, which will lead you over to CO96 just of Wetmore, another gravel
road.
