Does anyone know where I might sell a collection of about 400 B&W photographs from the 1930's of aircraft? They are mostly small prints but the photographer was a respected professional, and some of the aircraft are pretty unique. Here's a few samples:
These are relatively low-res scans. There are seaplanes, a B-15, experimental aircraft and some one-of-a-kinds. Very cool photos. If I can't find a buyer will probably donate them to the Smithsonian.

I don't know any where you can sell them and I wish you the best in your endeavor. I would like to suggest that any you don't sell could be donated to an aviation museum.

A few years ago I was faced with a similar situation. I had some items of historical value to a museum et al. Museums today that might be interested in your photos are going out of business at an alarming rate. Even the Evel Kieival Museum is closing. Life moves on..........
I have a journal written by a Navy sailor about his personal experience at the Normandy invasion. I tried several museums from local to national. All said they would go in the "archives" somewhere and probably never seen. Museums are overwhelmed with "historic donations".
If you want the possibility of them being used, plus getting paid each time they do, before donating them, get high-res scans and join "Wirestock". They catalog and market them to a variety of stock agencies.

I willed my historical photos to the historical society at AZ State University.
I showed them some and they wanted them right then but I said later.
Perhaps donate to the Western NC Air Museum at Hendersonville airport if you can't sell them?

Another thought would be to will them now to the University and see/have a say in how they’re used/displayed.

The United States Air Museum in Dayton Ohio is the largest collection of aviation history in the world. My wife is a executive for Woman in Aviation International. If we can be of any help please let me know. You can get a tax right off if you donate items as such. I highly recommend speaking to the folks at the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. Which I believe is the common name for the air museum.
It might be possible to sell them at rcgroups.com in the classifieds. It's a site for radio control model hobbyists, many of whom are interested in aviation history and scale models. I have sold many things there. There's no charge to post adds.

I will selectively post them on my website where I have over 13,000 photos which have been sent to me over the last 20 years by hundreds of individuals. The photos are organized by contributor. With around 40,000 photos awaiting to be added to the site, I could add just a few of yours at a time. Also, it will be likely that we already have some of your photos on the website in other collections.
I'll probably need higher resolution scans, but if you send me what you have already scanned, I will be able to tell you which photos you could rescan, or you could send them to me and I would scan and return them. Even if this interests you, you can still sell or donate them.
Sorry, I don't know how to add a website address here, but just search for 1000aircraftphotos.com
When I started the website long ago it was for my own photos and I thought if I could put 1000 photos of my own photos on the website I would be doing well. I had no idea what so ever that the website would become home for many thousands more sent by hundreds of individuals.
A question... do the photos have numbers stamped on the back? If yes, and it says Aeroplane Photo Supply, I can send you a list I have compiled of over 5000 photos that were for sale by the company in the 1950's that will help you compile a list to send to museums, etc.
