This is again what people go to Mana Pools for, the unique light. It was very dusty and a fair amount of red dirt. But then sometimes like the hippo, which was early morning it was more blue which is also the iconic light of Mana Pools.
I also struggle with the GPS unit that is on the large elephants heads. Do I remove it or not? I did in the 6th photo.
I totally enjoyed the trip, but still feel I have sooo many of the same sort of thing, yet I like each!
Yet another set beyond wonderful ! I would probably have technical issues with removing the GPS units, but absolutely no other concerns about removing them. They are for the Elephants protection, so I would certainly have a few showing on lesser shots. Can't imagine how many photos I would have got, or that you have. I would certainly keep them all, carefully backed up. That said, I would also put together a big freestanding collection, in my case on a CD or SDHC, and over some period of time, ruthlessly cull it to be the best of the best. As I would always have everything, I would have lost nothing, but created a "gem"! So appreciate your generosity in sharing your experience.
Your Africa images have been superb. Keep them coming.
Beth, all that work you did in the workshop with the horses and dust put you in a position to provide this wonderful set. Thanks for your hard work and sharing its results.
These are wonderful. They may almost all be of elephants, but they are each a gem.

Fantastic set of images!!!
So many wonderful photographs, really beautiful.
Interesting.
Nice photographing of the elephants.
I've really enjoyed your whole series! Some of the most beautiful, evocative safari photos I've seen here. I try hard to be firm with myself about keeping only the best of my own photos, but if I was able to make a trip like yours, I'm afraid I'd keep them all!

I took the workshop because of this trip and for migration in Kenya which will also have a lot of dust! It did help, but I’m still learning! The atmospheric conditions combined with low light had me frustrated with the sharpness. Then I came to realize, that is just the way it is!

I have deleted a lot! Then I see a different composition and think, well I like this too! Glad you are not tired of elephant photos. I still have more to come!
