It comes down to this: Use the tool that gets the job done, preferably within your budget. Apple products excel in media and PCs excel in business applications. If Apple’s Windows environment can run your specific PC-only applications, then that is a great option as you wouldn’t have to buy two computers.
I selected the PC route for the corporate direction I chose a long time ago. I can work on and service both systems, but my wallet prefers PCs.
By the way, I chose Apple as my smartphone platform for security reasons when Android was too open source and Wild West for my comfort. I now have an Apple watch and Air Pods that just work.

You're right! I can't do my job with a Mac. They simply don't make all the apps I need to work for the Mac and it's not like 1 or 2 but like 15 or 20 apps.

It's called...momentum.
Back in the day...Mac had a serious edge over PC in graphic design...it was obvious.
So...that generation ate Mac up. Some became GD teachers...and that's how the snowball got rolling.
A marketing snowball.
Now it has been a few decades...the ones who remember the advantage...well...they aren't about to learn a new system now...a few... but still a statistical anomaly. So they stick with what got them there...and probably don't realize how pipelined Apple has become. A narrow path. While PC is a superhighway of choice and compatibility.
They push Mac to others...because no one likes to think they are using overpriced/underwhelming gear.
Give an Apple user 10k...go buy a great Apple setup.
Give a PC user 10k...go buy a great PC setup.
The PC comp will absolutely smoke that Mac.

Now as the years progressed...the sheer volume of competition led to an innovation gap.
PC now is every bit as good as a Mac for ...anything.
Especially when priced ...dollar for dollar.

the Mac has a dollar limit for both the low end and high end. You can't buy a real low price Mac and you can't buy a real high price Mac either.

Did not even bother to read all the other comments. Always - buy the fastest processor and the most RAM you can possibly afford. You need this to process your images with almost any of the modern software image manipulation packages.

Store your images and retouching on an external hard drive. I use Costco's lowest price of $89 for the 5 TB Seagate HD for great performance at a very reasonable price.

Thanks for that comment, makes sense.
