Experimenting with the new Lightroom mask tool.

First image is my usual, minimal post processing.
For second image I used the mask to 'select subject' and then inverted the selection.
The masking tool selected the insect and the leaf it was on as the subject.
I adjusted 'black' and 'exposure' to get a solid black background.
Not sure yet what I think of the results.
Comments welcome.

A couple of gaps but not bad for Lightroom's first masking attempt

I think the red-green contrast is the better of the two. Red, being the rust color of the insect.

I am usually a big fan of black backgrounds. But in this case I think the leaf is throwing me off. My suggestion would be to add the leaf to the reverse mask to keep it green. But for a first time you did well.

I agree and would have done that except I wanted to show what the mask was able to do unaided.
