Has anyone heard of such a thing? If there is I might need to keep saving for a bit.

You never know what they will pull out of their hat. They did a full frame F-Mount retro a few years back called the Df.

I bought my Df (Nikon Refurb) while waiting for the Z fc. I'm very happy with both. We'll see what the future brings.

Best to keep on saving.

Don't hold your breath....even the Df was a niche camera and was never updated...maybe if the other lines like the Zfc are very successful they might but in the current climate and situation I would say highly unlikely.

Probably not going to happen any time soon.

One of the benefits of the Df is its ability to work with all sorts of legacy Nikon lenses. But with the Z mount you need the FTZ adapter.

The FTZ can't can't deal with lenses that require AF driven by the camera so many legacy AF lenses will end up with manual focus.

The Zfc has attributes that could be compromised by a FF sensor: size, weight mainly. 24 mp in my other crop cameras was always plenty for me.

weight should never be an issue. I think the issue is size. It would be too big. You see the Zfc is about the same size as the Nikon FM but the Zfc weighs 390g while the FM is 590g. The classics aren't big but heavy. My biggest complain about the Df is that is much bigger than the F3 (which is not a small camera) but is lighter. So the Z9 is on track weighing only 60g lighter than the D6 but much smaller.

Been eyeing a used DF for a while now. Is the DF worth buying? Good used models are (for me in the UK) circa £1000 or more.

A 16MP DSLR from 2013? Are you creating images or looking for people to admire your equipment? That will decide how much it's worth in 2021.
