I usually order from B&H. This time it was back ordered and I was notified a few weeks later that it was in.

Good news. What good is a camera without a battery?

Davey, I was able to get one directly from Nikon a few weeks back and finally received the three back ordered ones from B&H last week.

On another note, I purchased an accessory for my Z fc that you might be interested in. It is the Small Rig grip made specifically for the Z fc. I've attached a link to it below.

One of the big issues with the retro styled Z fc is the lack of a modern grip that we have become used to in our DSLRs and other mirrorless bodies. Small Rig has manufactured a very reasonably priced solution that integrates surprisingly well with the Z fc.

The grip is an L bracket. The bottom aluminum plate attaches to the tripod mount of the camera and is finished to match the metal and pseudo metal finish of the camera body. The top of the plate is lined with rubber so that the bottom plate of the camera is not marred when it is attached. There is an opening to access the battery compartment, and an acra swiss tripod mount is built in. There is also an additional tripod mount for tripods that can't accommodate the acra swiss plate. Finally there was a cold shoe on the bottom of the plate for accessories.

The grip itself is black hard rubber finished to match the texture of the camera. The side of the grip even has an additional tripod mount.

Everything is machined for a perfect fit and to the casual eye, once mounted, this grip looks surprisingly like it's part of the camera rather than an add-on. It does increase the dimensions of the camera slightly but only weighs around 2 oz. It is priced very reasonably at $45 from B&H.

I had seen several YouTube reviews of this device and every one of the videos was extremely positive. I just received mine yesterday and I was very impressed with the fit, the quality, the ergonomics, and the way it looked once it was installed. If you have thought about getting a better grip for your Z fc, I highly recommend this product.
