I'm pretty sure that almost all here own decent or excellent cameras, but I imagine that quite a lot of us (myself included), sometimes see the opportunity for a great shot and don't have our camera to hand. We do however have our phones. The quality of the cameras on the phones is getting better and better, so I'm wondering if any of you regularly use any post processing apps made specifically for phones? I came across a free app a while ago called "Snapseed", and if you haven't already tried it, I highly recommend it! I'd be interested to know if any of you have used anything other than that one that you would recommend.
I think a lot depends on what your doing with final image

I use "regular" post processing (Adobe and Topaz) very successfully on my iPhone shots.
A photographer brings their camera.
I make it a point to carry a camera with me, usually my OM-D, I call it my carry around go everywhere camera. Having said that I do also shoot pics with my Sell phone. It can be quite good for wide or pano shots. Other things.
One downside, I have at times seen artifacts from the processing.
I also use it to document things, like where I parked :), documents, receipts, Also at work I use it to document test setups, and for hardware pics or to document issues. And it's easy to uplink photos or upload to the computer wirelessly.
I don't use anything special to process the images other than what I use for other cameras.

I don't own a cell phone so this is not be pertinent to me. But, UHH does have a Smart Phone section that might interest you.

Two things I always carry out side the house my back up camera (cell camera) and my gun.
The only reason my iPhone gets involved in photography is to run an exposure program. That program only runs on an iPhone and nails exposure and processing.

My wife shoots from the hip with her phone all the time. She, once in a while, will get off a really good one. And yes, I usually put them in my Photoshop Raw Processing engine to make adjustments. I find that Photoshop works well. Below are two sample images, the first is an image of the Lock of Carrapatelo on the Douro River in Portugal, it has a lift of 115 feet and is the tallest in all of Europe. The second is another grab shot from Bryce Canyon in Utah, again, both were put through Photoshop. Are they the best I have ever done, no, but every bit helps when it comes to phone images. Again, you have to start with an interesting image, then you just add a few spices from Photoshop and WALLA.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.

Very insightful, you completely understand that a camera takes on many forms. I am glad you agree that this can be a Kodak box, 4X5, DSLR, Mirrorless, 4/3 or even a phone camera.
Thanks again for being so generous with your vast knowledge of photography. I am sure everyone on this site also shares their admiration for your ability to hit the nail on the head.
Imagine your life as a successful photographer. What camera are you holding?
