I bought this lens waiting for the Canon RF 100-500 mm lens (which came in soon after I bought this) but find I don't use it much. In excellent condition with hood, front and back caps, box and paperwork. Still has about 2 months of warranty left. It weighs in at 2.77 pounds, is quite long extended in shoot position, locks in at shorter profile for carrying, and performs very well. It is compatible with the Canon RF extenders. The lens is stabilized. Images are sharp and clear. I will be attaching images of the lens and images from the lens shortly. I will include the filter (95 mm) as I have no need of one this size. You pay shipping and I pay PayPal fees. Asking 750.00. Checks, PayPal, Zelle all ok. No money orders or cashier checks.
ADD ON : this is not the Canon brand hood- it was not available at the time I purchased the lens. The hood that I bought is a JJC LH-101- it fits and functions like it was made for the lens so I saw no reason to purchase the Canon brand after the fact.
Also- the filter is a B+W haze filter. I don't always use filters but this lens has a big chunk of glass that I wanted to protect.

I know it does with the RF 2x extender and maybe with the EF 2x extender and adapter but I couldn't be sure about that.

This lens will not mate with the EF extender.

Thank you. I have an R5 that I use with my EF lenses and it works fine. Great camera even with lenses that were not designed for the camera (I do use the adapter made for the camera). I wonder what the effect would be of putting the extender on the camera and then the adapter and then mounting the lens. Any thought to enlighten me on that configuration?

Are you taliking about the older EF extender or the newer RF extender? In any case the EF extender will not mate with the 800mm lens. If you are talking about the RF extender, there is no need to include the adapter as the RF extender will mate with the camera and the 800mm lens will mate directly to the RF extender. Thus no need for an adapter.

I am talking about the “older” EF extender, but since posing that question, I talked to Canon and they said that that would not work.

Unbelievable high price for the RF extenders.

All extenders have an unjustified high price in my opinion. But in this case the RF extender works with several lenses including the 800mm, 600, and 100-500 and now the new RF 100-400 mm lens which has not yet been released. That softens the blow just a little. I am keeping my RF 1.4 extender.

My wife says I should buy it, so how can I refuse. Is it still available?

I completely agree with her!! It's still available. How do you want to make payment? If PayPal I can send you an invoice. What city and state do you live in so I can calculate postage with insurance?

I'll send the invoice after I calculate the postage with insurance and add it to the total. The PayPal fees will be charged to me. I'll get it out tomorrow and get the tracking number to you. Thanks so much.
The lens performs well with the R6 so you certainly won't be disappointed with the R5 with all those extra MP to crop! I just love my R6- best splurge I've ever made in camera equipment.

PS:
I don't know if you noticed but I grabbed the wrong lens box and posted that pic on the for sale ad- I do have the correct box if you were wondering.
