I have experienced a problem recently with my new Nikon D 90. When shooting at the beach in the extreme bright sun the infomation bar at the bottom of the viewfinder becomes so dim that it is very difficult to read times. When shooting mauual I find myself guessing and using auto as a backup.
I have not found anything in the users manual that indicates an adjustment that can be made. Is there an adjustment or a trick to overcome this, or is this a problem that I live with.
Thank you for your reply

Me too! I do have a day job.
Excuse my ignorance, but isn't a hoodmans loupe used to block the sun from the LCD display? The original question was about the info bar through the view finder. What am I missing??
Thanks

Perhaps you shouldn't have the option to "like" it on your website?
There's a lot I don't care for about facebook either, there is plenty they could improve on, but I think you might be missing the content of what I was saying:
Your pictures are very beautiful, and felt they were worthy of recognition as I thought that was the reason you posted the link to your website.
Perhaps "Thank you" would have been more appropriate than offering me your oppinion on social networks?

I have no choice about the Facebook link. An unsolicited "nice shot" from a stranger whose skill level is unknown is worth as much as a "your stuff stinks" in my opinion. I just consider the source. You'll notice I requested "NO CRITIQUE".
For the eyepiece, Hoodman makes an eyecup that might help you
