The feds are letting 10s of thousands of disease ridden and unvaccinated people in to the USA monthly and then distributing them all over the USA.
If the vaccine was important the feds would close the border and not allow all the disease ridden unvaccinated illegals in unless they show their vax card as proof of full compliance.

Well, Capn, you have to read the article and not just its title.

But you asked "why is this happening?" and here's your answer; it's complicated but think through it.

Virus surge hits New England despite high vaccination rates because:

1. Vaccination rates are not high enough. There are - unfortunately - still too many unvaccinated.
2. Before your object, yes it is true that vaccinated are also becoming infected.

3. But read this paragraph from the article:

"Even though parts of New England are seeing record case counts, hospitalizations, and deaths that rival pre-vaccine peaks, largely among the unvaccinated, the region hasn’t seen the impact the delta variant wave has wrought on other parts of the country."

4. So the high rates of vaccinations have significantly reduced the hospitalizations and deaths that would have otherwise occurred in New England had all those folks not been vaccinated.

That is what the article really says, despite its "click-bait" title.

O don't think my comprehension is off (and why the snark? How did I insut you?). Let me repeat: Your second link had nothing to do with Portugal.

The post was about the overall thoughtful and disciplined response to the pandemic of which nearly universal vaccination was a key (but only) part. But you didn't read the link, did you?
