If you know his true name, then you can check death records online at the the Social Security site.
You could check obituaries if you also know his locale.
You could check obituaries if you also know his locale.

Unfortunately, all I know is his first name. Perhaps someone else on UHH knows Mike’s full name and could check.

I don’t know his full name either, but he lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is/was in his 90s.

I’ve chatted with him several times in the past, and I believe the last time he mentioned his age he said he was either 92 or 94 and is no longer able to travel, other than short drives. He told me that his last stroke was affecting he memory and ability to type, but he was managing. And that is all I know.

Now that we know his approximate age, his approximate date of demise, his first name, and his locale, we can look up obituaries there. With that number of variables, we can expect to narrow the search to a handful of individuals. Some search engines list relatives, too. We could send them a letter of inquiry.

Well, let’s not jump to conclusions regarding his demise. He’s just been off UHH for awhile. He’s been a long and near daily contributor to the Gallery section and at his age when he’s gone for awhile, we all get worried. He’s pretty much the ambassador of UHH photography, so we are concerned. But we can’t assume he died. At least not yet, even though that is a possibility.

A careful search could reduce the possibility of his demise as the reason he has stopped his involvement here.
