Good Morning Hoggers....
My wife and I are in Upstate Vermont (Burlington) right now and it seems we a "slightly" early the changing of the color for the leaves... We would dearly love to get come "calender worthy" shots of Autumn Scenery...
In the last several days, we have traveled the area of Stowe, coming from Maine, and we are seeing only about 10% to maybe 20% (???) in the coloring...
My question is... We have the ability to go anywhere in Vermont or New York and then south.....
... Can anyone give us "actual current reports" for locations of "full-color change happening right now ???"
Thanks so much in advance for your input and your help

Your a little bit early for peak Fall foliage color change right now, although that being said, I can't believe the amount of still green leaves dropping off trees where I am in NY.
Here are some fall foliage maps for you to peruse. On the New England map, it looks like it is just starting to approach peak color today in the northern-western-most part of Vermont, and by Monday that area should be close to peak.
https://newengland.com/seasons/fall/foliage/peak-fall-foliage-map/Here is the Fall Foliage map for New York. Looks like it will be a week or two before it really starts to peak. Higher elevations are just starting to change.

We once took a fall colors cruise up the New England coast and saw exactly one red tree in Acadia National Park.

You already got a lot of good tips and links. Generally Burlington has a later foliage because of the lake. I think typically Northeast Kingdom (NE corner of VT) gets the foliage first.
Good luck!

Check today’s Thursday’s Syracuse Post Standard @syr.com they had a complete review for New York State.
I think it said Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid were close to peak
Usually around Columbus Day is peak here in New England. I’m in the Boston area and am seeing some but very, very little color, mostly yellow.
Check the color in southern Quebec. It will peak earlier than Vermont and give you some forewarning.
In the past Vermont and New Hampshire bloomed at Columbus day. The hotels and motels are booked for that time as early as January. It is beautiful at that time.
We left Newbury, VT last Saturday. The leaves were mostly green but had started changing. This coming week and the following should be great.

Loc: L. I., NY, Palm Beach Cty when it's cold.
Go as far north as you can - like up to Montpelier and then work your way south. My best luck has been the first week of October. But remember once the leaves begin to turn one rain storm or light snow and everything is gone.

Yes...
We were in Burlington during late Sept 3 yrs ago. It was great but didn't see too much in the way of changing color. Things were very different after a drive to Quebec City
