In a radio interview this morning in my local market, former Congressman Mark Walker told the radio audience that Joe Biden asked General Milley to resign after the Afghanistan withdrawl debacle. He stated his source was inside Milley's staff. Walker's opinion of this event was Biden was hoping for a scapegoat for the evacuation. The fact that Milley refused to resign and prevailed without being fired shows exactly how weak Biden is in his own administration.

That's too bad. He should be fired. I say fire all of the generals responsible for the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle. Since we are out of Afghanistan, we don't need them anymore.

That would be Bush/Cheney and their stupid "nation building" scheme.

Trump entered into the agreements. Biden followed through and actually got us out of Afghanistan. The choice was to leave, or send more troops. The only reason it looked like America could keep Afghanistan under control with so few troops was because the Taliban was biding their time waiting for America to leave based upon the agreement with Trump.

Whatever happened in Afghanistan is not grounds to impeach anyone. But you can dream your little wet dream.

Bush/Cheney was responsible for Afghanistan.

Take out the terrorist camps; good idea.

Turn Afghanistan into a democracy; bad idea.

As for Vietnam, there is the Truman Doctrine "assist any country that is threatened by communism", the Eisenhower "domino theory", the Geneva Accords of 1954 (where France, America, Russia, England, and oh, by the way, Vietnam, decided that Vietnam should be split into the North and South and become a united democracy in two years...Hah!), the Kennedy escalation, the Johnson mass escalation including the historically huge bombing of Laos, and the Nixon Vietnamization (and expansion in Laos and Cambodia). One idiot president after another.

No Biden did NOT enter into the agreements, even had he done so which he didn't, why would Biden not change it like he did with Trump's other policies? Give it up, this mess is all on Biden's hands.

You missed the point. I said Trump entered into the agreements.

Biden did change it. Trumps agreement was for a May withdrawal. Biden change it to August.

And it has nothing to do with Bush, Obama or Trump? All Biden did was have the guts to leave, like what should have happened more than 15 years ago. Yes, it was chaotic, but there is no guarantee that a slower withdrawal would have gone any better. 3.5 trillion and 20 years yet the Afghan government collapsed in a New York minute.

Those who opposed Trump's impeachment, twice, have no standing to argue anyone else should be impeached.

It was Biden's decision to get the troops out before civilians, it was Biden's decision to close Bagram airbase. It was Biden's decision to leave all of the military equipment behind. It was Biden's decision to leave American's behind.

It was Bush's decision to nation build, which was a total, unmitigated failure. 3.5 trillion American dollars wasted and nearly 2,500 American soldiers killed. It is easy to speculate that our withdrawal could have gone better. But that's all it is: speculation. A slower withdrawal may also have gone worse.

Nation building in Afghanistan was doomed to fail. Based on history...what were they thinking??
