People left alone

People left on their own to make choices don’t have time to look for racism, to accuse others of micro aggressions, to argue the new anti-abortion efforts in another state, or even worry about who is actually in charge in DC. No, regular folks just want to have their usual lives back in order. As evidence I present a lo-res cell phone pic. Some 60 000 fans cheering for football teams with nary a one of them worried about the skin color hidden by jersey colors.

Yes. The image reminded me so much of the feelings I had at the Texas state track meet in May that I had to share it. That meet, by the way, was a great argument against the idea that racism is everywhere. Let’s just say the vast majority of the crowd was not white and that I had a great day and great conversations the whole time with people from all over our huge state that look nothing like me.

Racism only exists in the mind of the beholder.
