All my older images were processed with iphoto and later with Photos. Since I purchased Affinity Photo, I'm looking at older images and see if I can improve them. The biggest improvement I see is in noise reduction and sharpness.

fantastic shots - any idea what lens, speed, etc you used to shoot them?

Very nice. I have done the same with On1 for many of my old images. What a difference.

All are shot with a Canon EF 100-400, some with the EF 1.4 extender, which equals 560mm. Most of the time I shoot at F8 and 1/800 to 1/2000 sec., and ISO in auto. Most shots are handheld and 6' to 12' to the bird.
Focusing is the biggest challenge. I use single-point focus, and back button focusing.

Great - I've had mixed results hand held but haven't had strong light - appreciate the feedback. Love watching hummers!

The current PP/AI programs have made many unusable photos viable. Glad you could recover some great images.

Wonderful Set ! Love that second shot with the eye between the wing and flower. I'm pretty sure that hummingbird eye could be effectively sharped in Topaz Sharpen AI with a a Mask over just the eye area. It would turn this image into a superb shot and a wall hanger! Thanks so much for sharing these terrific images !

Beautiful shots!
I just Love Hummingbirds.
They are so beautiful, graceful and curious . . .
They will actually buzz around your head when you sit next to a feeder to take their pics.
They make me. . .
Smile,

Hsch39 this is a great set; photographing hummingbirds around flowers are the best, my home is surrounded by trees and I must rely on feeders for the most part.
