Samsung and others are swapping components in their SSDs

I'll include a link in a second post so that this doesn't end up in the Links and Resources section. I understand about the chip shortage, and in the case of Samsung, most people would not notice the difference. In the case of Crucial and Western Digital however, they've swapped out TLC NAND for QLC NAND, which results in a big performance hit without making this known to buyers. This is outright fraud.

I'll put this in the same category as my old lawn mower.
Someone brought a class action suit against the manufacturer because the actual HP rating was a fraction below what it was rated.
I opted out of the class....
The mower worked just fine for me.
