Curious about old garage sale find

We bought this leather hand tooled roll-up music sheet holder with sheets of music around 15-20 years ago at a garage sale. Don't remember what we paid for it, maybe a dollar or two. We've have it displayed on our vintage upright piano.

Does anyone know anything about it? We are wondering about it's history, and if it's worth anything more than looking good on our piano.

Your Music holder is probably mass produced (judging from the Tooling designs) the are roll stamped not hand carved and stamped. Everything is too even and lacks the defined carved edged of hand tooled work.
So think you have a great conversation piece. That does look good with your decor!!!

Louis Weber was a prominent composer in Missouri and Kansas in the late 1900's to 1920's. Published over 200 songs. Maybe look him up on line for more info. Either way, the leather holder and song sheet (from 1905), makes a fitting accent to your amazing display; great photo!

Thank you. I wasn't thinking it was valuable, just amazed it's in such good shape and still flexible.

Thanks. Thought you might like to see the rest of our lower level that is full of our antiques and fun stuff. I have a wall with photos I took in Iceland, Switzerland, and Italy. We're now cleaning up sewing machines we got at an estate sale. These are cell phone photos.

That is quite some room; museum-like. I was about to say it must be a nightmare to hold the dust down, then I saw the shop-vac in the corner.

Quite a collection you have there. Question I ask myself though when I want to buy more is… where will all this stuff go when I’m gone. My kids have no interest in relics.
On a side note my neighbor just gave away all her mothers LaLeche and Waterford crystal collection plus he Hummels for 800$. Nobody wanted them or anything else

Ours also have no interest in antiques. They'll hire someone to do an estate sale. It won't matter to us then, but now we enjoy them.

HaHa. Dusting is an on going process like lawn maintance. The shop-vac was for sucking decades worth of dust off the sewing machines we just bought (using the round brush attachment). These are the hand operated ones and they still work.
