A few days ago I post two shots with replaced backgrounds. I wasn't completely happy with either but several of you made suggestions. This is what I've come up with and I think I like the changes in both.

In the first, the bright colors and uplifting feel is still there but the background is less distracting. In the second, I further darkened the background which I feel makes the orchid pop more.

Let me know what you think.

Carol, your reworks hit the mark! The orchid has more impact with the darker background, and the softer background in the first image is the ticket! I love that the input on the Hog can be so helpful in advancing our photographic endeavors. Nice work, there!

Well done Cwilson341, great backgrounds... they make a big difference.
I suggest that the part of the Orchid be cloned out... and that the remaining have a horizontal flip so that it "reads" from lower left to upper right. [Western world tradition.]

Carol I applaud you for not giving up. Many times the first go around may be ok. But usually ok is not good enough.

Nicely changed. I especially like the orchid that certainly does pop more.

Thank you for the suggestion! I considered it to begin with but I was afraid the single blossom wouldn’t look good. I’m out of town right now but I will try it and see when I get home.
