I just saw the results of a poll- Do you favor Socialism or Capitalism? Results--60% of democrats favor socialism 40% republicans favor socialism. The reverse for capitalism. If this is accurate we are in serious trouble.

The problem is that many Americans do not even know the difference between socialism and welfare capitalism, they conflate the two. Also, many Americans don't even know what socialism consists of even though Democrats support it, they have no idea what it is.

Assuming what you say is true, that's even scarier than the results of the poll. It means that the American people can be sold a bill of goods without knowing what they are buying. That's how revolutions are won without a shot being fired. I do believe that is exactly what is happening now.

Very true - trump as president is a perfect example....
Thank goodness America came to it senses this time . Well at least half way.
Next time we may get it fullyright with a real conservative.

Yes, trouble for the industrialists who control capital. Not so much for everyone else.

Capitalism here to stay but likely with some further modification along social lines. America under capitalism already accommodates social programs; for example, Medicare and Medicaid.

I think many are still locked into the REDS UNDER THE BED paranoia. This is more in keeping with modern logic, since Capitalism is only dragging the world into more & more division, & racism.
