It is so prevalent these days, Dick, that I wonder if the legislation can be tightened up?

Maybe someday, but not in my time, I'm 82 and I just keep my head on straight now!!!

Frederick, that is being considered and I know that whatever the cause of the lapse it will deteriorate. We are setting up an appointment at the new bank to discuss the best arrangements. But thank you for speaking up and I am sure I am not the only person the wrong side of 75 to read your comments.

Good for you! Best of luck, Paul.

From what little I know of this subject, cyber-criminals need only a small fraction of the target population to respond to their fraudulent come-ons to make their crimes worthwhile.

Some software exists to detect and screen for fraud online. I use Trend Micro for this purpose.

My cellular telephone service from Verizon has similar software on it.

Old saying: "Buyer beware."

The bank did not cover our loss. It was my loss. Of course it is embarrassing. I completely understand that and I hope that was made clear in my post: "It is a most humiliating affair. I have beaten myself up several times over and have at last understood the frame of mind that I had gotten myself into.” Is that not clear?

Of course I revealed how I screwed up, that was the point of sharing this. You and I clearly see this differently but I am still grateful for your remarks.

Thanks for sharing Paul. I'm sure it was a difficult decision to put yourself out there.
