Before Stalin worked his way up simply killing a few hundred thousand people in less than 15 months he improsoned and exiled folks. Who were these folks?

a) the folks who said and did everything Stalin asked, who praised his greatness

b) critics who called out his violent tendencies and his lies

Who ends up in Russian prisons (or worse) now?

a) those who speak out about the failures or flaws in Putin

b) those who spread propaganda in defense of every action of Putin

Kim Jong Il supposedly made about 5 holes in one when the official media in North Korea reported the outing. Was this?

a) laughably false

b) gospel truth

In each of the previous examples, was it truth or was it lies that were suppressed?

When the media never reported on FDR’s medical conditions, or failed to cover JFK’s infidelity, or repeatedly failed to air the full video in the Sandman case, or in the (forget her name) case where she was portrayed as racist after the guy implied he was poisoning her dog….. In all those cases TRUTH is being suppressed.

In the hydroxycoroquine fish tank story, it took weeks before the media had to admit local authorities were treating it as a homicide.

Smollet case, same thing. Weeks before the real news that Smollet paid his “attackers”.

Cuomo case same thing.

So for the experimental part:

When doctors are posting videos, complete with links to locations to download the appropriate scientific studies, and those get removed, is the content more likely to be true or to be false?

We’re it false, could we not just rely on out fact checker overseers to protect us? I mean all of us are illiterate and number dumb…..

Lies are well woven and have more story content than the truth which is dull mathematic science. After retiring I taught 9grade Science and Math ... both were sedatives to many students ... Charman Mao said "A lie is better than the truth." You do not sell coughdrops by saying they don't work and the sugar will rot your teeth. Cigarettes are "Soothing to the T zone."

Even if I granted your premise that the. I do and it’s content were abjectly and demonstrably false, which I don’t, it is in the best interest of a nation designed for robust debate and an educated populace to DISPROVE false information, not to suppress it. Suppression begets division, or so says media, everyday, 24/7, if they can tie it to race. Why does the left SAY they demand diversity of every type EXCEPT political philosophy?

Those on my side have put up real money in support of PAYING Ocasio Cortez to debate folks on our side. The idea being the money go to charity. We WANT her to be the biggest voice, as she is among the least educated and least intelligent voices in the Communist/authoritarian wing of the Democrat party. The more she talks the better. Result? No go. No money to charity. No debate.

From my seat, the left is TERRIFIED of open debate, and the vast majority of posts in this and other forums bear out that thought. Though both sides tend to insult far too frequently, the left side voices are far more likely to abandon debate, assail character, assail the source rather than the thought, or dodge debate with deflection or resort to peripheral tactics like calling every documentation of their hypocrisy names like “whataboutism”.

You are an exception to most of that, and I honor you for it, but even so, you just argued FOR censorship. That is diameteically opposed to the Democrat party that existed prior to Obama.

If I post a video noting a 20-1 ratio of voter registration in Penn. from 2016 to 2020 in favor of GOP it will be censored as violating a.nebulous policy, but Incan find 20 videos of democrats saying Trumps election was fraudulent. There is no standard of truth involved in the censorship. None. It’s all about narrative, power, control.

Another great post. I want to validate your premise that the left is terrified of open debate. After years of trying I finally found one liberal that was capable of a real discussion about political matters without insults or divisive rhetoric. Unfortunately time was the enemy and our debate ended all too soon.

I have established a reasonable relationship with a few liberals here on UHH but that is almost always done via PM.
Wouldn't it be great if we could choose two people here on UHH to carry on an actual debate over the issues without interruption by the bullies and snarkies.

Two reasons. First, I really don’t watch Fox. Once Fox decided to let their best analysts leave and when Krauthammer passed away, Fox became just a watered down shadow of what it once was, or bad comedy, not worth my time. Second, in recent times IF I’ve seen others reference Fox it’s most often the case that Fox has refused to cover the same stuff the other outlets are refusing.

A prime example recently has been the data analysts associated with the inquiries of Mike Lindell. I responded in this thread that the Pennsylvania data shows GOP registration since 2016 outpaced Democrats 20-1. That data coupled with fact that Trump got MORE votes in 2020 than 2016 already raises suspicion, but couple this with the fact the Penn registration numbers have correlated with the subsequent elections in every election since records were kept except 2020 and you have data implying fraudulent numbers. The analysts are saying cyber attacks, not Democrat fraud, and still no outlet will have them on, FB YouTube etc are banning the info.

Even if you think someone is full of it, the right to speech and opinion is too precious to surrender.
