In any event this post has been walking around for nine months.
Yes! and it finally gave birth!
I should pay more attention to the datelines. Thing is, sometimes, miraculously, the dead threads are somehow resurrected. Oftentimes, a new thread arises with a "hot topic" or question and garners many responses, debates and outright combat, but the OP never comes back to respond, thank all the participants, or disagree- it's anticlimactic. Can't win!
Sometimes the zombies can be fun! At least, this one is not about the "infamous" skylight filters, the dreaded post-processing, or the popular "how do I clean my lens"? On that last question, I am tempted to answer "steel wool and hydrofluoric acid" but I am afraid someone would actually do that!

Perhaps the admin could "lock" topics (threads) for new comments after an arbitrary amount of time, say 30 days. Or at least create a warning that you are about to reply to an old topic?
When my wife and I go for a walk around a state park she takes her 400 f4 DO with a 2x and I take my 300 2.8 with a 2x.
I think you have to define where you are walking around before you decide on the lens to walk around with.

I revived it. Seems there is still life in some of these dormant posts. After all, just because something was talked about a year ago doesn't mean there isn't something that can't be added.

What was added to the revival that wasn’t said during the original run?
I think you are nothing but a troll trying to stir things up.

Surely a walk around lens should go with a walk around camera - how about a Panasonic G3 or G5 with a 14-42 PZ (power zoom) X series pancake lens?
Lumix G3 or G5 is waaaaaaaay too huge. All of the same mu4/3 lenses fit the GM5. About $500 wherever fine relics are sold !

Really ... how bogus. The topic is "walk around lens". Wearing hiking boots does NOT define "walk around". Bad examples abound. (Two attached below.)
