Dusty Hill, bass guitarist of the blues-rock band ZZ Top passed away last night in his sleep at age 72. The band was formed in 1969 by Hill, guitarist Billy Gibbons, and drummer Frank Beard, and has been active for 52 years. Hill also had played as a sideman with Texas country-blues icon Lightnin' Hopkins prior to joining ZZ Top.
RIP Dusty Hill, you will be missed.

Yes, you are correct, that video probably would not be considered acceptable today.
That '33 Ford Coupe of Billy Gibbons was the star of many of the groups videos starting with the Eliminator album in 1983.
La Grange was my favorite ZZ Top number. A How How How How …

Bless his soul! ZZ is one of my all time favorite groups.

Rest in Peace Billy, see you on the other side. I took this at a concert in November 2012 in Rochester Ny....
Wow so sad. End of an era for the coolest rock band on the planet.
Only recently saw for the 2nd time a documentary/history on the band.
Billy was on his ranch in Oklahoma(?) and he had the most beautiful horse I'd ever seen (a Palamino? I'm not into horses, but this was stunning)
Only managed to see them live once in the UK, brilliant live act.
He will be sadly missed by everyone. Condolences to his family, friends & of course to Billy & Frank.
RIP Dusty
Took my daughter to her first live concert when she was 15 years old. It was ZZ Top Recycler tour. She was blown away. I have been to many ZZ Top concerts over the years starting in 1981 in the cotton bowl opening for the Rolling Stones. They have always given a great performance. R.E.P. Dusty Hill. You will be missed.
Sorry to hear that, but he was certainly distinctive, and he "was active for 52 years." Still, 72 is too young to leave us.
If you watched the TV series "Bones," you know that the "Tops" on the right in the picture in the original post was the father of one of the characters.

Pretty tame by todays standards. I can't believe any thinking person would take this seriously.
I love their music but thought their live concerts were awful compared to their studio music.
