My husband and I grind our own hamburger meat (mix of chuck, bacon ends and sometimes sirloin) and since we like big, juicy, half-pound burgers (yes, we weigh them on a digital scale), I bake our own hamburger buns which can stand up to the juicy burgers. Other buns disintegrated under our hamburgers, thus the need to bake our own - problem solved! And they're delicious, too!

Unbaked buns
Baked - buns may be a tad heavy-handed with the sesame seeds
Grilled buns with burgers, double cheese for the husband (Steve)
Served with our favorite pepper potato chips, wine for me, a beer for Steve
So thick, must use party-picks to hold the burger together ;-)
Excellent photos & food! . Since you are a Burger fan, two recipes that you might like. An Australian Works Burger and Deconstructed Burger Salad - available online and a nice change. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful preparation and presentation, Irene. Great idea grinding the bacon ends with the beef. Your home made rolls bring it all together. Definitely a bigger and better burger.

Looks really good. I never thought about making my own buns. Gonna have to try that
Excellent photos. I bet they are great hamburgers, they look so tasty!
Great presentation and great idea on grinding the bacon with the beef.
Excellent presentation!
Beautifully photographed and presented Irene. Those rolls look delicious. Is that a family recipe, or one you found?
Thanks everyone for the nice comments; it’s much appreciated.

The hamburger bun recipe is one I found on line, by Chef John with allrecipes.com; the link is below:
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/233652/homemade-hamburger-buns/ It’s a fun recipe. The major change I made is using my bread machine to make the dough through the first rise. Just dump all the ingredients into the machine - I do heat the water to 105°. And I substitute 3-tblsps of oil for the melted butter, easier and no difference in taste (IMO).
There is a video included with the recipe that I encourage anyone making the buns for the first time, to watch.
As Chef John says,
"if you don't sprinkle sesame seeds on, you can't call them hamburger buns, they're just "buns"
