new phone and a new perspective

I never really used or considered using my phone for any of my more serious photography. I must say have admired work presented on social media from phone photography. I have used my phone camera for quick shots to send to friends etc. I think I have had an epiphany, with my new S21. I am starting to explore the possibilities. Here is my first entry. I did add an effect with PS elements. However, the original image is what allowed me to accomplish this. I even got a great print.

So, you have come over to the dark side (LOL). The best camera is the one you have with you.

I have had my S-21 for 2 weeks now and am SOOOOO impressed with what it can do. It does close-ups way beyond what seems imposable.

Hello to another Frankie(that's my name too).

I have a iPhone shot that has performed well at contests--when I didn’t reveal that it was a phone shot. When I did, . . . .

Frankie c, your point is made well, and your superb image is yet further testimony to the wisdom of initiating this new Smartphone Section of UHH!
I have been a serious photographer since 1947 and can attest to the fact that my best images at any particular time have invariably been the product of the camera I was using at that particular point in my career - and so it continues to be true. That observation - intuitively obvious - is not original- I first heard it from my dad, a technical and promotional writer for Eastman from the 40s thru the late 60s.
…and so it goes!

I have a camera and a phone in my pocket computer. The camera takes great photos. Very happy with it. And when I’m not on the Internet or texting or doing social media or doing computer stuff I can make a phone call from almost anywhere and actually talk to someone. It’s a great device to have, this pocket computer.

thanks for the response. technology marches on. I take it you were talking about your dad at Eastman Kodak. I started there in 67 right after I got out of the army. Were you in Rochester?
