Sony A7ll vs A7lll Is the extra $1000 worth it?

Trying to convince my friend that the lll is 5 times the camera than the ll. The lll is the one that made Sony a serious rival in the camera world. They have done nothing but become a magor player since the A7lll was intorduced.

If I had it to do over, I would have bought a used III instead of a used a7II. But, I wouldn't go so far as to say the III is 5x better, not in capability to justify that price difference. They're both just 24MP mirrorless cameras, neither even the current model in that Sony product line. I'd want the better battery life and silent shutter of the III would be why I wish I'd decided differently.
But regularly, like just again yesterday, I can shoot more than 1000 RAW images without exhausting even one battery. Just compose and shoot, don't waste battery doing review and culling. Save that for home.

Just trying to get him a better camera. The lll made Sony a magor player in the market. $1000 is nothing to this guy so I am trying to get him a great camera he will be happy with.

It’s his life and his money, and his choice. He’s heard your arguments for the III and still wants the II. Be a real friend and support him in what he wants to I do.

With a budget such as you indicate, he should get an a7mkIV or perhaps an a9. All the lenses will still cost the same, so why not give them a better home.

I was about to say the same but I think Sony doesn't make the A7IV but only the A7RIV.
