Most Hated car ?
... OK.... we did the "what car"... we did the "worst car"...
How about your "most hated car" ?... and why!
Here is mine ...
I just know that some of ya are going to disagree and I will more than likely excommunicated, but I just "hate" this car .... I hate the way it looks ... I hate the sound it makes.... I hate the way that it pollutes ... I hate the way that some youngsters find this car cool!... I hate its history.... I hate that the "wheezing" engine is at the "wrong" end .... but most of all I hate the fact that all of my life so far I had neighbours that own them and they start these darn things at 10pm each evening and come home at 6 a.m. in the morning because they work on the night-shift ! Why is this ?... Rust patches all over the pavement.... and more oil stains than was caused by the Exxon Valdez! noisy tick tick ticking backfiring things ... I cant sleep for the sound of em rusting..and I wouldn't spit on one if it caught fire ... Bah !
I really don't like em, AARRRGH ! "can you tell" ?
OK ... what is this car ...?? Yup, the
VW Beetle..... "there", I said it !
:-(

I actually have owned two cars that I bought as brand new cars that were incredibly bad cars.
The first was a 1980 Buick Skylark. I picked up my car in April of 1979 from Massey Buick in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and boy was I excited. It was Black with bronze brown interior and gold striping. Back then in the north, you had to have your cars rustproofed (Ziebart) and since it was Friday I decided to wait until Monday to take into Ziebart. I had a blast with car over the weekend showing off all the new technology like front drive and a really cool radio. On Monday I went to the Ziebart facility and dropped off the car. My family had all their cars rustproofed there. My brother drove me home, I would take a bus to pick it up around 5 that evening. When we got back to my mom's house she told me that Ziebart was trying to get hold of me. I had not been home yet so he called the other number they had on file. When I called him back he said that I needed to come back right away. So my brother drove the three or so miles back. When we arrived my car was on the lift. I was shown the underside of the car and it looked odd even to me. I didn't know what I was looking at so I asked, "What is that?" The answer threw me for a loop. I was looking at the underside of the carpet. General Motors, Fisher Body had neglected to weld the floor panels to the car. I was lucky that it was only in the back seat. That incident began a thirty month journey with that car. I say thirty months because that is how long I owned the car. I had purchases an extra warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles with bumper to bumper coverage and I traded the car in at 30 months with 34,000 miles. During the thirty months I owned the car I actually only drove it for about 18 months, the other twelve I drove loaner cars as the car was in the shop for some many problems. I remember one time when I picked it from having the dashboard and air conditioning vents replaced...it was sucking fiberglass out of the dash blowing it into the air. I started the car at the dealers lot and turned the steering wheel and the power steering pump exploded. That was at about 1,100 miles. The rest of the repairs became a blur there was always something wrong. It one of the worst cars I ever owned, the other was a 1984 Chrysler Laser...but that is another horror story.
I had a 1969 Plymouth with a 318 engine worse car I ever owned. I lived on the eastern edge of North Dakota, colder than a witch's ...well it was pretty cold. When ever the season changed either the altenator or the starter would go out. The starter would always go out in the winter. I would have crawl underneath, showel the pile of snow out of the way, take the exhaust down, and then loosen the bolts. Luckily it was only three bolts but one was way up on top which needed a special wrench. I would get out my tool box in the winter and the kids and dog would all disappear. The starter never went out in the summer, always winter. I would drive down the road and it would sound like I do now, creaking, groaning and complaining. I hated that car. The thrid year I had it I traded it in before winter and bought another Plymuth with a 360. One of the best cars I've had
I had a 1993 Chevy Blazer S10. The BANE of my existence! Every week something would break on my then-boyfriend's S10 pickup and a week later, the same freakin thing would go on my Blazer. The S10's were notoriously bad. And despite having 4 wheel drive, she was a sled in the snow. I traded her for an Isuzu Amigo and was soo happy to see the Blazer go...
Simca, first car I bought while in the army.
POS rear torque free engine, they Yugo of the day. Once you hit 5000 rpm or so it started to develop rnough torque to merge on to a secondary street.
Damn DOOR FELL OFF on the way down town, thank God it was snowing, no damage to the door. I traded it in on a 65 Impala wagon, 327 powerslide, needed brakes and rubber. One day at the auto craft shop, better than new. Drove it for 2 years and sold it for what I paid for it. Had 373 gears and posi rear, never got stuck in Alaska with it
you don't HATE a car you dislike it ,you get rid of it,or you indure it.but hate what a waste of effort.

I bought a Buick Special brand new - after the break in period it developed a habit of stalling as it warmed up - warmer it got, more it stalled (dealer could find nothing wrong). Eventually reached a critical(?) point and the stalling ceased for the trip, but.... Scary thing my wife was a nurse, working the 4 to midnight shift in an inner city hospital. We got it paid for and got rid of it.
Before anyone says anything she started at the Catholic hospital as a Pinky at age 12, graduated from its nursing school and recently retired from it.
A car firm rather than a car BMW for calling their car a mini.
I disliked - even hated - my Chevy Vega because there was constantly something wrong with it. Fix one thing and another problem would crop up. The mechanics used to scream and run away when they saw me drive up to the dealership for another round of repairs. That car spent more time in the garage than it did on the road.
Hated car number two was my AMC Pacer - the "hothouse on wheels." Biggest problem there was trying to keep it in alignment. I spend an inordinate amount to money buying new tires for it because it would be so out of alignment that I'd ruin another set before I even realized it. A mechanic told me that was a common complaint with that car and that I should spell PACER backward. It's RECAP = and he suggested those were the tires I should buy. That damned car would come out of alignment while they were backing it off the alignment machine. Nuff said! I'm getting a headache just thinking about the time and money those two cars cost me.
My FAVORITE car was a VW Beetle. Funny how tastes differ. My worst car was a VW GTI. Always in the shop.
