I have been a photography enthusiast since 1956, starting as my high school year book photographer using 4x5 speed graphic. I have never owned light stands or modifiers until yesterday. I purchased a Neewer two stand kit with flash cold shoe brackets and 6 umbrellas (2- shoot-through-white: 2 gold: 2 silver). Here is what I consider the best initial test shot using the two white modifiers.
Welcome to the world of light control.
there are a bunch of ways o make lighting equipment using PVC pipe ... here's a link to a DIY light box:
https://expressionswithheart.com/2011/08/10/make-your-own-light-tent/if you take a piece of 3/4 inch schedule 40, about an inch and a half long, and make a cut along the long axis of the tube, then cut make another cut along the long axis so that you've removed a little over a third of the circumference of the tube, what you have will clamp very smoothly to a piece of half inch PVC ... you can clamp in any type of cloth or material you want ... if you glue two of these gadgets together, you can hook your panels together.
inexpensive, simple, and you get whatever YOU decide you need - not what some marketing guru thinks will sell well and make his or her boss a ton of money.

Light is our language. You now have the opportunity to control the light. I used a 4 x 5 Crown graphic in 1956 as my high school photographer. Keep on clicking.Stan
I'm a certified cheapskate. The light stand set was $42.00 & change and free shipping. I was a first time customer of Neewer and got a nice discount (list price was $54+). This set probably would not last long in a daily shooting environment, but is is good for my purposes. Cheers.
