More images from our visit to Belfair State Park 7-14-2021
Bright overcast day, about 62 F, no wind. Only stayed about 70 minutes!
As I exited my truck I noted a bird flying around some bushes. Turned out to be a juvenile Cooper's hawk, I believe. Only managed a few going away shots. The hawk stirred up all of the smaller song birds in those bushes, notably Brewer's Blackbirds and various sparrows.
The juvenile Brewer's Blackbirds flitted around the trees and bushes and generally seemed unsettled. On the wing shots all ruined by Heat Distortion. Managed a couple of shots of the blackbirds in the trees. A White-crowned Sparrow flew around us for a few minutes (yes minutes) and finally decided to land jus so I could get some decent shots!
The wild rose is my take.
Took so many eagle shots that I had to add just one!
Download and enjoy!
