In 2015, wife and I toured Alaska with a tour group. One day was a 60 mile journey on Mahay's Jet Boat Adventures (https://mahaysriverboat.com/) from Talkeetna, AK to Devil's Canyon (a class 6 rapids). One of the stops along the way was an old hunting ground, at which we got off the boat to see it close up. The tour guide brought along a rifle just in case any bears showed up.

If you are looking for a superb trip for a few individuals contact Bryan Carnathan at the Digital-Picture.com site. The most we ever had in our group was Bryan and 3 other photographers. I spent an entire week in Shenandoah shooting fawns and ferns, just the two of us. He was actively looking for people who wanted to shoot bears in Alaska, in a small group. He is very good at what he does.
