Moth in the garden.

I have been around and around trying to ID this moth without any certain outcome. I thought at first it was maybe a Gothic Moth, Sideridis sp. but I doubt it . Any ideas would be welcome.

UPDATE....It is a Silver Y moth, family Noctuidae. I think it has suffered from the fierce winds we have had here.
