Has anyone been to subject park? I’m wondering how it might be as a foreground for Milkyway shots?

Been there. Loved it. Much potential for your foreground.

It is an official Dark Sky location and should be a great location. We enjoy our trips there during the day. Wonderful formations for use with sky shots.

I know about Google - thanks. I'm wanting to have a conversation HERE with UHHers who have been. Thanks though.

Good to know it's an official dark sky location (I think I read that on one of my Google searches). I'm hoping that there will be good, interesting formations looking in the general direction of the Milkyway (south southwest).

Well, you asked how it would be as a foreground. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Any night images you could share? (or even day images). I've seen lots via Google but interested in what Hogs have done there.

Was there in May. There's few actual trails. It's a big bowl of hoodoos that you can wander all over the place in. Highly recommend.

Went there in 2016 and will return in September. I think you will enjoy it very much and the other-worldly shapes and formations will give you lots of opportunities for great shots using them as foreground for night shots. It really is a pretty spectacular place - lots of the formations made me think of chess pieces designed by someone who was hallucinating. Have a great trip and hope you get lots of great shots you can share with us.

Thanks. Looking forward to it. We've been to Moab many times, but never knew about this place until recently.

This is just a quick view of a very enchanting place near Moab. My wife and I loved it.

About how tall are the average rock formations?
