Here is a sample from April that shows the sharpness and tonality. A Samyang 135mm f2 was used at f/5.6.

Nice! Downloaded it and looked real close. Not an artifact in sight.

Here is a sample using the Sony A6300 that has been modified to mono sensor.

First image is the DNG file created with Monochrome2DNG. Converted to JPEG in Lightroom with no additional adjustments.

The next 3 images are crops of the first image showing how clean the original was that the resizing shows no artifacts also.

Second image shows taking that DNG file and resizing it 2x with Topaz Gigapixel AI. Note: Gigapixel AI will not work with a mono DNG file. I called Gigapixel AI from Lightroom which means that it converted it to an B&W RGB file which Gigapixel AI could work with. Used the low resolution model. No additional adjustments were made.

Third image is the same thing except used 4x resizing.

And finally the 4th image is with 6x resizing. And I changed to the Standard Model.

And one more. Here is where the monochrome sensor really works well. Mainly this is because it can be used with various colored or IR filters with no loss of detail. This one was taken with the UV-IR filter so is from visible light only. This is a stack of 13 images taken at ISO 1250 at 10 sec each and then stacked. This is the nearby galaxy M101. Above at about 11:00 is a small fuzzy spot which is a small galaxy that revolves around M101. The bright spot is the core and notice the immense gravity of M101 has pulled that core to one side of this small galaxy.
