I want to buy a Nikon Lens, (24-120 VR, f4) however I can not see a USA Warranty? Amazon has a 90 day guarantee, as do some others. I want to be able to "Register" the lens with Nikon, so if there is any problems with the lens in the future.
Dose anyone know a company that offers a "USA Guarantee", with their lenses?
I want to avoid a "Grey Market" lens!
Thanks lots,
Boone.
If a new item doesn't come with a Nikon warranty, then future repairs would be in doubt. Nikon doesn't supply parts to non-Nikon shops. Used items aren't covered by Nikon, so a warranty doesn't enter into the picture - unless the seller provides one. Nikon-refurbished items have a shorter warranty. I've never had a need for camera or lens repair - going back to the 1970s. I've had two recalls on Nikon bodies.
"USA Guarantee" sounds fishy. Not Nikon. Your safest bet is to buy from a reputable dealer. Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Costco, Crutchfield, Hunt’s, Robert’s

If understand you correctly, "There is NO US WARRANTY ON ANY USESD LENS"? Then I'm limited to the "90 Days", as offered by Amazon. Is that correct? If I buy a "New Lens" on Amazon, it will come with a One Year warranty?
BTW: I have never had to return any of my Nikon Lenses either.
Thanks,
Boone.
I think it depends on who refurbishes the lens as to who offers the warranty on it. Third parties as well as Nikon refurbish lenses. If you bought a Nikon refurbished lens the Nikon would offer the warranty and you would get paperwork with the lens stating the warranty comes from Nikon. If buying a refurbished item go directly to Nikon or B&H, Adorama and look for Nikon factory refurbished. Anything Renewed would make me suspicious

Thank you for the reply. I think I will call B&H or others. Thanks!

Some sellers on Amazon do sell gray market items. Authorized Nikon dealers all sell at the price specified by Nikon. You can check prices at B&H, Adorama or Nikonusa dot com.
Those will be the authorized prices and the lens will come with a Nikon USA warranty. If you see prices that are significantly lower, you are looking at gray market

A lot of these lenses on the market are "white box" which means they were part of a D750 bundle that the retailers unbundled. They are not usually grey market, though some could be. You should get the assurance in writing from the vendor that it is legitimately a US product and can be registered with Nikon in the event it needs to be repaired down the road. If they vendor won't offer it, walk away and buy the retail-boxed version for about 50% more money.

If I sell you one of my lenses, there is no warranty, even if is only a day old. The warranty is for the original purchaser. Dealers can contract with independent repair shops and offer a warranty, but parts could be a concern. Amazon is a Nikon dealer, so they can offer gear with the full Nikon warranty. If they are selling an "imported" (gray market) item, then Nikon will probably not cover it. Nikon does offer warranty a service on some gray market items now. Basically, if the Nikon USA imports the item, they will cover it. They make the profit from the sale, and that helps with warranty work. If a private individual imports a hundred Nikon cameras, then he makes the profit, and Nikon USA doesn't want the expense of repairing it.
Read the fine print in an Amazon description to make sure you are getting what you think you're getting. A low price indicates something that's probably not Nikon USA.
Refurbished should come with a 90 days USA warranty. If not it's gray market.

Nikon websiste has refurbished lenses. That's where I purchased my current 24-120.

Did you just ask me the same question on "Amazon Answers?" Yes, I bought the exact same lens from them in a white box. As I pointed out, the lens I got was not refurbished by Nikon USA. It did not come with a Nikon USA warranty. The serial number confirmed that it was not imported by Nikon USA. It was refurbished by someone who is "Amazon approved", and the warranty was provided by Amazon, not Nikon. Third party warranties on Nikon equipment are only good if they will replace it within the timeframe stated. After that, you're screwed if something breaks. Modern cameras and lenses are very complex, and Nikon will not supply parts to anyone else unless they have contracted with them to do warranty work through their own warranties. I also pointed out that I've had no problems with the lens, but that doesn't mean that someone else won't have problems.

This is the one I just bought. I realize I am taking a gamble, however, I have been to "Vegas" before, and if one is afraid to loose, then one should not gamble!
I'll take the chance. I have used Nikon lenses for 49 years, and never had or needed a repair done.
Besides, I will have 30 days to return it.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained!!! I am a big boy, and I know the risk!
Only time will tell!!!
Thank you all for your incite, and comments. "THANK YOU ALL"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Boone.

Yes, I did ask this question on Amazon, and you did reply. I read your reply, and I thank you!
However, as I just posted, I took another chance.

I bought that very bundle, D750, 24-120, and grip. All USA proper. All boxes had full retail trade dress, no white boxes.
It was a Nikon bundle, not a store bundle. All boxes were in an outer box, also full dress, that listed the items within.
Same story when I got the D610 plus 28-300 etc bundle, no blank white boxes.
