The propaganda machine of the big oil companies nevertheless has used the end of the XL pipeline to claim this action has caused a rise in gas prices at the pump.

The oil companies also traditionally boost the price of gasoline for summertime to gouge buyers who travel more then.

Once again you are uninformed. The XL pipeline was never intended to deliver crude oil directly to the refineries. In fact, the XL Pipeline oil was never to be used to deliver oil in the United States. The pipeline was intended to deliver Canadian crude directly to the Gulf where it was to be loaded on tankers and shipped to China, as it was too lowgrade for any of the United States refineries to handle.
Second, none of the federal leases that were canceled were currently producing oil. It was merely for exploration and they were canceled in order to preserve the habitat without the oil companies destroying it.
Good luck with your "stock portfolio". Hopefully, it will allow you the leisure time so that you might be able to catch up on reading.

I read that over the 4th of July weekend there may be a shortage of gasoline with some stations running out because of a shortage of tank truck drivers.

Hey Frank, read the links above, no need for me to post them a second time, it would seem that you are not only wrong but embarrassingly so.... It is you that is once again misinformed, and needing to catch up on your reading!

You're such a wonderful man Frank.... Just a peachy guy.

It’s not a factor in the USA gas price equation.

You're obviously extremely confused, I said nothing in regards to gas prices.

No true

States have rigid laws for hunting work, reporting contact etc to qualify for unemployment compensation . The states waived these rules during covid not the federal government.

In addition :

“””” https://www.axios.com/unemployed-people-not-searching-jobs-115934de-9159-4e4a-abbd-436f51049ee7.html

Around 25% are afraid of COVID-19 and are waiting for vaccination rates to climb before getting back to work.
More than 20% say they have a financial cushion and around 12% say their unemployment insurance is the reason they're not rushing to get a job.
Childcare is also a major factor. 20% of lower-wage workers are staying home due to care responsibilities

Nice try to politicize the issue but you wrong again.

Please, you UHH people are trying to confuse the issue with facts. Settled, Biden is responsible for gas price rise.

When food prices go up, please consider that Biden is responsible for the heatwave, drought, and sea-level rise-flooding... which has lead to the building collapse in Miami.

This would never have happened if Trump were still president ... which of course he is, so he says.

I doubt you even bother to read the article - and just mouthed off
.

But just to correct your errors.
- no existing leases were canceled.
- the pipeline would have only carried oil that America would not use and which would have been trans hipped overseas. Btw that oil is already coming in via rail and truck.

and whose oil trains??? your boy Buffett

Always defending stumbling mumbling Joe.... Never mind that he canceled all federal leases on oil exploration, never mind that he canceled the XL, which would have delivered almost a million barrels a day directly to the refineries, never mind that he has threatened to impose policy that would punish carbon in this country.... No, nothing is Biden's fault.

I'll tell you what, big oil always does well when the price of gasoline skyrockets, their profit is built in as a percentage of what we pay at the pump..... I will be adjusting my stock portfolio, at least for the near term I will be heavy in Chevron and Exxon.

Railroads such as BNSF owned by Buffett ( here ), however, are not the principle way oil is transported from Canada to the United States.

Still persisting in believing falsehoods because they fit your prejudices.

Then don't look like an idiot, address his post about your concerns, not my post which obviously has nothing to do with your rant.

The oil was unfit for refining into gasoline. The majority of the oil was to be transshipped overseas. You're smart enough to know this; why do you perpetuate disinformation?
