My Image Your View: Forest Playmate

Whenever we hike we look for areas away from the crowds. When we do, we always run across the local wildlife. This image was taken in the forest inside Mt Rainier NP. We were surprised by a sudden rush of leaves and branches crunching and a small animal streaking by. We had run into a doe with its spotted fawn. The fawn used us as its playmate. It would run in about a 200' circle, stop about 20' in front of us and look back. The it would run around in another circle, stop and look back again. The little fawn played with us for about 10 minutes. Mom stayed in the background being more cautious. She didn't intervene as she didn't perceive us as a treat. That single experience made our trip. But because the forest was a little dark and the action sudden and fast, this was the best image I got from the experience. As you can see it needs a little TLC. Hope you have fun with the image.

Feel free to download this image to your computer. Then you can edit it any way that you think is an improvement. This one was really tough! I wanted to highlight the deer; but they are not really that sharp, so zooming in really tight probably would not work. So I went for some burning and instant limited dof. Hope you like it.

This was tough in color, I wasn't satisfied with anything I was getting.

So, this is my view in Black & White.
