Tamron 24-70 G2 giving me blurry images

Should I be using a Tamron Tap-in console on my Tamron 24-70 G2 lens to "calibrate" my lens or update the firmware? I know nothing about what a Tap-in does but my Tamron 24-70 G2 is giving me blurry results compared to my Nikkor 16-35mm when shooting the exact same subject. I am using a monopod with a 3-second delay on my D750 and keep the camera as steady as I can. Used the same ISO and focal length for both lenses.
The same subject with my Fujifilm X-T2 is giving me super sharp results, hand-held.
I am hoping that perhaps a Tamron Tap-in console will solve my problem however, I don't have a clue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated on my end.
Thanks, FiddleMaker

You know the drill. Don't post a question about why you're having problems with your images / equipment without posting and storing an unedited example (or few) in JPEG format.

Tameron will fine tune your lens to your camera one time under warrantee

Yes, you bring up a good point but I will need to reshoot something more interesting than the clutter in my living room. I just happened to be "playing around" in the living room with a yard-sale monopod that I just bought when I noticed this problem. My initial intent was not to do this comparison between Tamron & Nikon since I suspected nothing was ever wrong. So, it is back to the drawing boards as the expressions goes.

why a 3 sec delay on a monopod ?? .what speed / F stop are you using , same problem on manual focus ??? .

You wound up testing 2 things simultaneously. Far better to do one at a time. To test the lense, put the camera on a tripod or at least a solid surface so there is no camera movement.

It is possible that your playing around makes full sense. The 24-70 magnifies errors more than the wider lense, especially if it was near the long end. Unless you had a relatively high shutter speed, quite possible you are merely seeing blur because the longer lense magnified the monopod's movement more.

Best to get this part sorted out before embarking on any form of autofocus adjustments.

I figured a 3 second delay would allow the mirror to come to rest and reduce camera shake. I used f/14 for both lenses. I was sitting in a solid chair and holding the camera & monopod close to my body so there was hardly any noticeable movement. I would need to repeat this in manual mode.

Breathing causes movement even if we hold our breath. I would test the Tamron lens on a tripod before any other adjustments. 3 seconds is too long for a monopod.

I will just redo everything with a tripod and cable release. I also notice my shutter speeds were 1/5 second. Too slow.

Self timer or exposure delay. The exposure delay is what your needing. VR on off/on? Different modes of VR for your lens?

Let's see. Indoors, 1/5 second at f14 sitting down in a chair using a monopod which is only slightly better than handheld. I would imagine any lens would give you back a dark, blurry, shaky image. What was the ISO? 12,800?

Dial the aperture way down (like f4) and the shutter speed up (such as 1/60 - 1/125), retake the images using a target with small details (such as a printed page) and post a JPEG with EXIF data.

ISO was 250 and so that would give me a really slow shutter speed. In order to me to see any noticeable blurriness, I had to really zoom in with the slider moving to the right so in effect I am seeing only a cropped version of the image magnified quite abit. Hard to notice any difference when both images are viewed normally on this 27-inch computer monitor at full screen.

I used a 3-second delay but I now realize that my VR was ON and it should have been OFF. My brain must be suffering from damage or old age.
