This 4X4 area has numerous houses, most of which are huge and quite elaborate. The dunes have named and maintained streets, garbage collection and regular mail delivery. Heck, what do you expect for a home worth $10 million or more?

Horses, along with fox, rabbits, rattlesnakes and all kind of creatures roam free in this protected area for horses, and for the most part, peacefully co-exist with the two legged species known as "man."

Gorgeous area, wonderful climate (well, it does get kinda hot in the summer, but you don't have to shovel it) but if you visit, beware; the horses are truly wild animals, so give them room, or suffer the consequences which would include been kicked, bitten and receiving a very expensive fine.

This stallion wasn't greeting us...he was giving us fair warning to stay the heck away. Although gorgeous animals, all of these horses are very wild and will kick and bite the s**t out of you.

The horses seem to tolerate the birds much better than they do the human residents.

Haven't been down on the OB since the 90's. Hoping to go maybe this year but next looks more likely. I seen a photography show from down that way (show was recorded a long time ago) & baby foxes were there also.
