These are awesome shots Thomas. I love soccer. I don't shoot enough though. I want to shoot some of the boy's season this year. I have to figure out why my focus is so off. Shot a lot of softball and way too many not tack sharp!. Keep posting photos love it. It is so quiet in the summer time. I want to start doing headshot photography, will see what happens. I rented a 18" LED ring light yesterday to just see what it would do and if I can get anything decent to show. I know if I do headshot photos I would need a different lighting setup to do it. Thanks BE SAFE!

Great shots. Really appreciate both the shooting details, as well as your thoughts on why you liked the shot. Helps me understand your “eye”, which is wonderful.

Keep posting

Nice work again Thomas.

I'm ready for Fall....90+ degrees with humidity requires water breaks during each half.

Thanks for your very kind words Tom... they are appreciated!

"...I know if I do headshot photos I would need a different lighting setup..."
Tom a Beauty Dish is an industry standard... and for compelling reasons.
Typically the 1.5x it's diameter in front and above the talent's face... i.e. at 45 degrees

Look up "paramount lighting" on Youtube etc. BD's are ubiquitous in this scenario...
this is also known as "Butterfly" lighting...

All the best Tom

Thanks so much for your kind words David... they are appreciated!

I've followed many of these young ladies for years on the soccer pitch... watching them grow into gifted athletes...
It is wonderful to document their incredible journeys...

As the seasons go round and round the journey remains the same... only the faces change...
Once they reach 18 they are off to college/career or whatever...
And their positions are replaced by fresh talent coming up the ranks.

While it may be initially sad when I no longer have the stamina to endure 90 minutes on the pitch I totally realize when one door closes another will indeed open...

All the best on your journey David

Many Thanks Paloviejo... And I totally hear you about the sweltering heat... I no longer can handle it...
The good news is there are the Spring and Autumn Soccer Seasons where I work... which btw are thankfully civilized in ambient temperatures...

Water is the key... stay hydrated... it's imperative...
All the best on our journey Paloviejo
