While having my oil changed in my F-150 yesterday, I ran across this.
Fellow in my neighborhood has one. While I like electric vehicles (EV), Ford should be embarrassed to call this a Mustang.
$53,000 + T&L? Not on your best day. Drive it for 300 miles and have to charge it for 10.5 hours.

Perhaps... I had a Mustang Convertable in 1964... guess a name is just a name... Mustangs were mustangs for years... same theme.
Munro Live gave the Mustang Mark good marks. For the Mustang... start here:

If so, Edsel Ford would roll over in his grave.
Two If's
IF it were Fuel Cell powered
&
IF I could find station(s) to refill
John, I m certain that Ford is going to sell plenty of these Mustangs. But I keep looking at a $53,000 price tag for a vehicle that can only go 300 miles and then take over 10 hours to recharge to full capacity. So I could save $900 a year in fuel if I buy this vehicle. At the current price in my area of regular gasoline of $2.89/gal that would equal about 311 gallons. I can go an average of 7,775 miles in my Nissan Rogue on 311 gallons. I would have to charge the Mustang 26 times to go that far and it would take a total of 260 hours (about 11 days). Now, has anyone told us how much a full 10 hour charge will cost? Certainly it is not free. So what is real fuel savings? So my 430 mile trip from here in Tennessee to Myrtle Beach that typically takes me 8 hours would take me 18 hours each way. It is hard to believe that Americans who want to get everywhere as fast as they can would be ready for this.
Am I missing something here?
PS -- I would hate to have to drive that Mustang from here to Sanibel Island like we used to do once per year.
It seems every time an EV is featured anywhere on the 'Net, it sparks (pun intended) great debate. I apologize if I started this thread down that road. I only wish that @jaymatt had posted other photos of the car and had avoided posting the sticker.

But the sticker says everything. And what is wrong with debate as long as it is objective and civil?

I agree that it looks nothing like a Mustang.
