The ancients observed that democracy could become tyranny by way of leadership offering security (AKA safety and ubiquitous cameras) and bread (AKA welfare) over freedom. In fairness, the ancients did not know liberal democracy as we know it in our time.

Another source has noted the movement of the U.S. presidency evolving to a Caesar-ship, wherein one individual holds all power in his hands, with the weakness of the Congress fostering this outcome. This condition of leadership does not mean dictatorship but all power residing in one individual.

On the other side, the contemporary scholar Francis Fukuyama maintains that liberal democracy represents the perfection of human governance, and its culmination worldwide appears inevitable.

I believe this did happen, and find it alarming. Sounds like a man who is willing to commit murder to get what he wants in life.

I have no doubt that he isn't the first or last to act like this. From both parties, as well. Many people try to make things go their way whether it's legal or not. For instance, the nurse activist broke the law by recording the man speak without his permission. According to this story, to get all this on tape, she had to start recording before hearing the alarming words, right? She was trying to illegally obtain dirt on him to get what she wanted, right? She got much more than she thought she would, so turned it in rather than sitting on it and leaking the dirt, because she was worried she'd get in trouble if she said nothing and the victim was assassinated.

However, is this the sort of thing that will destroy our government and replace it with something else? I don't think it's that apparent. I'm pretty sure it is against the law to talk about planning to kill someone, because that sounds reasonable to me. At the very least it should be the final nail in the coffin of a political campaign and/or career.

I think there is much more of a possibility that LEGAL actions will destroy our government and replace it. Legal actions such as changing the constitution to end our right to speak freely against our government, to end our right to protect ourselves with guns, etc. Legal actions such as suppressing news so that one party will most likely win an election. Legal actions such as letting anybody vote anywhere with no attempt to check identity. If these things become legal, we are much more likely to see an end to our current government and the emergence of something new. Or old.

The American experiment in democratic/republic form of government is continuing it's demise. It was began in the early 1900's by followers of Marx and Engals. among others. President Wilson was a prominant leader of the movement. Todays progressive/liberals have taken control of the educational system (part of the original plan) and are going about the indoctrination of our children. Concepts such as CRT, Equity and Cancel Culture are teaching the young that America, as founded. is a bad place and must be changed.Whites, because of the color of their skin. are automayically guilty of "White Suopemacy" and are therefore racist. UNLESS all this is ended the country will become a socialist/communist dictatorship. Those progressives ignore the basic fact that the US (for all it' flaws) has brought more wealth to more people (most of the population) than has any other country in the planets history. Am I overstating the dangers?? I truly hope so.

I don't believe you are overstating it. We've always heard how in Communist China children are indoctrinated as soon as they're old enough to pick up a book and how they have more loyalty to the government than to their own parents. I see this country moving in that direction as our children are being brainwashed in school. I wonder how much longer it will be before every right leaning TV network and newspaper publisher will be shut down. I believe the Democrats will strive to eliminate any opposing views by any measure possible.
