WF2B,
Nice owl.

Thanks. It’s a Barn Owl I was photographed with at a Raptor program in Kittery, ME with them using my camera. I liked it so much I decided to use it as my Avatar here.

I don't subscribe to CR anymore.
Could someone list the phones they like? Usually they have a 'best' choice and a 'best value' choice.
Thanks.

This is obviously a matter of choice and preference, also iPhone vs. Android. Personally I use an iPhone 11 Pro because I like the camera and the settings available. Another reason is that it syncs seamlessly to my iPad so I can process all my photos on a larger screen (monitor). I primarily use Snapseed for my smartphone images and rarely use PS, I'm somewhat of a purest.

Their top rated was Apple iPhone 12Pro Max @ 86, followed by two Samsung @ 85 - Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G and Galaxy S21 Ultra G. All three of these were over $1000. The highest rated “Best Buy” was the the OnePlus 8 Pro @ 84 for $700 followed closely by the OnePlus 8 @ 83 for $500 and the OnePlus Nord N10 5G @81 for $300. The Best Buy in the Apple line was the iPhone XR @80 for $500.
I have not used any of these since I am still using an iPhone 7.

Not to denigrate CR, but several computer magazine come to different conclusions, putting the top super-expensive Samsung 20 series as best in class, slightly edging out the iPhone.
If you like night photography, or very low light stuff, the Pixel was best.
I'm currently using a Samsung S10 and am researching options, and doing my very best to keep an open mind. In general, I prefer the Android system to Apples "walled garden" approach but that wouldn't be a deal breaker.
DxOMark.com is my go to site for smartphone camera ratings. They have a very rigorous testing procedure and their full reviews are very well written. Just be a bit careful. There are 2 choices for their rankigs, one to select just cameras readily available in the US vs all cameras. The best US camera is the iphone 12 pro max with a rating of 130. The best cameras in the "all" category are made by Xiaomi (143) and Huawei (139).

Consumer Reports consistently that Behr, the Home Depot paint is one of the best. I do a lot of painting and know others who paint also. None of us would ever use it a second time.
But I have to pay to read consumers report

My Dad was a house painter for 45 years. All he ever used was Benjamin Moore. I painted the exterior of my last house with Benjamin Moore paint (35 gallons) in 1994. After 26 years it still looks great.
I found consumer reports put a lot of weight in the price. If a product is just OK but has low price they will rate it highly.

Not to hijack the thread, but try your local library for CR. I get that and many others free (downloaded to my iPad) with my membership card and their app.

You can't just knock Behr paint. There are several levels of quality as is true with most brands. If you used one of the lower qualities that's unfortunate for you. We have used Behr Exterior Marquee and find it to be excellent and with one coat coverage.

I have found over the years that when they are rating anything I was very familiar with, I usually disagree with their choices.
