Beating back into ploughshares

This past weekend, took a trip into the hinterlands of farmlands.

It always amazes me the things I see at the farms.

When I saw the items, the idea of beating ploughshares popped into my head. I will admit that this is the first shot of 2021 for me.

Let me know what you think. And I do know people see different things around them.

Enjoy.

Well, unless I've lost my Rural, it is a gadget for mounting and dismounting tires from wheels.

I would say that you must have done a bunch of them.

I will have to remember the age groupings that frequent these halls.

You mean folks old enough to know how to do stuff, and to have done it?

Shh. Not so loud.

Side note. I have been asking people if they knew who Henny Youngman was. When they say, "No", I hit them with, "Take my wife. Please." They think I came up with it.

Yea, some age groups can't identify squat!

(Probably because it wasn't in their video game and no deductive reasoning ability.)

Just a second on my soapbox regarding Education in the USA. The schools I attended decades ago, the emphasis was on how to think, more than what to think. The American public education reversed the order of the methods of teaching. And it was exacerbated by making religious indoctrination the overall purpose in private schools.

In how to think, more emphasis was given as to how the answer was worked out rather than having the right answer.

Knowing HOW to arrive at the answer is more important than KNOWING the answer. One is just memorization.
I had an electronics shop teacher in High School that believed knowing where to find the answer was just as important as knowing the answer. (research)

I always enjoy talking with Tinkerers. Their grasp is so far above of mine! I have learned a lot through the years.

The last time we went to the Threshers Convention at Denton, NC, my wife threatened to leave me when I got to talking with the various tinkerers camping out there. She literally had to pull me to the car.
