Like them both. Love the Blue Ridge Parkway! Need to go back, haven't been there since 1993.

Both great shots! Did you slightly under ambient on the first shot or just fill flash only? The reason I ask is I usually shoot about 2/3 under in this type of situation and it can be slighty tricky on the sx40. Again very nice!...Robert

Did you set the setting in the camera the way you want them? I shoot Nikon D300s and was not happy at all for the first year. But I have played with the settings enough now it puts out beautiful pictures right out of the camera. One I got for the 300s was by Darrell Young, awesome guy. I don't know if he does other cameras or not. But it was may better than the Nikon manual!Easier to read and follow. The one I am reading now is by Dennis Thomas and is for the Nikon flashes, called Creative Lighting System. I am sure there are books out there for yours.

Yes donrent - the parkway is a beautiful drive and a photographer's heaven. I used to go up on it alot when I lived in Lynchburg, Va. Been from Front Royal, Va all the way into N.C. - LOTS of places for great shots. Where I initially got into photography with a Canon Rebel 35mm 13 years ago.
