You can add the hundreds of protestors still in jail for trespassing during the Jan. 6 protest at the Capitol, many in solitary confinement in direct violation of the "cruel and unusual punishment" provision of the 8th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

They are not locked up just for "protesting" and you know that you are a liar for stating that. You spread lies and don't care as long as the lies support the Big Liar and his Big Lie.

He didn't say they are locked up for protesting. He said they are locked up for trespassing which is true. Not all but many.

They are locked up for attempting to overthrow our government. They are exactly where they belong.

That's BS, you are suggesting that a few hundred unarmed folks were attempting to overthrow the government.... That is plainly ridiculous, you and Dave both need to consider your statement and just how untruthful it is.

They may have been trying to influence what happened at the capital that day, but stating that they were attempting to overthrow the government is pure BS, nothing more than the continuation of a political talking point.

If a group of protestors are looting a store and someone walks in out of curiosity and does nothing but look around without taking anything is that person also guilty of looting?

How many are in solitary confinement for trespassing?

How many are in solitary for any charge?

Trespassing is not the only charge leveled so far. Weapons charges, conspiracy charges...the list goes on.

(I doubt that more than a couple, if that many, are in solitary)

Our opinions are as valid as yours. Too bad a full bipartisan effort to clarify things was tanked. Go figure...

My understanding is that there is not one weapons charge. Can you point to one?

Had they proposed to look at violence all across the country it would have passed, there was more destruction and loss of life in the summer of violence, were they wanting to be fair they would have looked at it all. The reason the commission failed is because it is nothing more than a partisan effort.

Nothing is comparable to insurrection and there is no valid reason or excuse for not investigating such a serious charge.

You are entitled to your opinion, mine is that it was a demonstration in which a small minority broke off into a riot, it was a nothing burger and certainly not a threat to our government. Personally I would have been pissed had the democrats again gotten away with looking only at their political opponents while shutting down any speak of investigating what their side was up to.
