I was up in the local park the other day. If I needed proof we are in a drought, I might have found a clue in the state of the stream. It has turned into a series of disconnected pools, which is usually its August state. It may dry up entirely this year, which would be the first time in the thirty-seven years I have lived here. Late in the day, the sun reflected off one of those pools and lit up the underside of the bridge in a warm glow.
